Telling the story of architectural salvage

Gallops Architectural Salvage Yard near Crickhowell is an absolute treasure trove. You can find pretty much anything you want for virtually any old building there. Gallops are not struggling for trade, every builder around knows about them, and they said they were getting plenty of inquiries from their existing website. So, how could we make…

Capturing the drama at the boat house

The secret to success in social media is great content; stories which engage and grab the attention.   But you need to be able to spot the angle and drive the narrative in what may, to you, seem ‘all in a day’s work.’  That’s where we come in. We joined the team at Beacon Park…

Catchy, eye-grabbing animations

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and these pictures, augmented by a little animation from As You See It Media, tell the story of how Propel Finance have been looking after their customers during the lockdown.  Click on the image below to see the video.

Telling the story of Our-Food

I am very excited to see Our-Food making such strides in encouraging sustainable food production in and around the Brecon Beacons. We pride ourselves on putting people at ease in front of the camera, as this fab short video by our Content Creator, Will Kearse demonstrates. Filming can be fun, or even funny, and relaxed contributors come across best.  With decades in television production behind us, we can make video production easy for you.

Working in Covid Lockdown

Not everything can be done on Zoom!  While much of our work has shifted online, it’s just not possible to take quality location photos without, er, going to the location!  It’s also more difficult, though not impossible, to gain a true understanding of complex subjects like community-supported agriculture schemes, over the phone.  Sometimes you just…

Socially distanced surveys

Now that’s what I call social distancing! Building surveys by drone – nearly 400 feet from the nearest builder! We were commissioned by a UK Healthcare company to survey four of their building projects from the ground and air, so their managers and investors could see how the projects were going, without having to travel…

Telling your story, selling your business

Nobody knows the story of the business better than the people who run it, which is why business people are often best placed to sell it. They demonstrate a passion for their product; the same belief which drove them to set up their venture in the first place. And they possess all the knowledge and…

Drone Ready!

We have lift-off; well, nearly! We’ve just taken delivery of a new DJI Mini 2 drone. It takes stunning 4K video and 12mp pictures to bring a new angle to everything we film. We’ve been working with established drone operators for years but have not had our own, until now. Changes in drone regulations from…

Multi-camera cookery!

This was a fun project for The Landmark Trust building conservation charity; recreating seasonal recipes from Tudor and Victorian times. They were filmed in kitchens at historic Llwyn Celyn, a 15th Century Welsh Farmhouse and featured historically accurate recreations of period recipes, including pigs trotters and marchpane or marzipan,  The finished films are being shown…

The Cost of Covid

The Cost of Covid on jobs and the economy …another programme I worked on this autumn. We are adapting to working online and making more video.  Not everyone is so lucky. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000q1xk/bbc-wales-investigates-the-price-of-lockdown

Stargazing in the Brecon Beacons

We have had some fantastic weather in the Brecon Beacons this week and it has given me a chance to create some blogs for our client, Beacon Park Boats. Like this one, about the National Park’s designation as an international dark skies reserve. Because we can make the video, take the photographs and write the…
